Cheating in Black & White

Black & White is one of the best games out there. Although it has some problems, like super-slow level loading and saving in some levels, the main idea behind it is just magnificent: you are a God, and you'll have to conquer villages in order to get stronger, using lots of miracles to impress villagers, like food and wood miracles, between many others.

Codes for Black & White are easy to find, BUT they don't work with me. I have the patched version (Black & White v1.10) of the game, and it seems that all trainers are worthless with it, and the same happens with the unlimited food/wood code. So you have two options: play without codes (the best option if you want a challenging game) or use a memory scanner to get the addresses  that store the food/wood amounts and even the praying power (and change them)!!!!!!

My favorite Memory Scanner: Art Money

WARNING: Black & White requires you to be careful in some aspects that I will list below. I do not take any responsibility in any damage made to your computer in any ways. If you follow my instructions, you SHOULD not have any problems. You must also read the instructions in ArtMoney's page to know how to work with it. For a security reason save the game before using ArtMoney (sometimes Windows presents you an error).

Editing Food/Wood

NOTE: It seems that ArtMoney will only get the two necessary addresses to "fool" Black & White if the food/wood value you want to change is less than 5000. So do not use ArtMoney until the food/wood value you want to change is less than 5000.

NOTE2: When editing food, you sometimes get three addresses: two Integer values and one Float 4 bytes. It should not be any problem if you edit the three....

1-Start the game and ArtMoney. The order doesn't matter.

2-Check the food/wood amount you want to change, pause the game, then use ALT-ENTER to minimize Black& White and then go to ArtMoney.

3-Click "Search". Select "Search: Exact Value" and "Type: All".  Enter the food/wood amount. Click OK.

4-After the search is complete, go back to Black & White. Change the food/wood amount.

5-Go back to ArtMoney. This time click "Sieve" and enter the new food/wood value.

6-Repeat the steps 4 and 5 until you get two addresses. Then repeat them one more time to be sure that you have the correct and necessary addresses (see below to understand all this cautions).

7-Add the addresses to the right panel.

8-Change all the values to the same amount.

After doing this steps you should have TWO addresses. You MUST NOT change the value if you have only found one address because it won't work correctly. For example, you had 16000 food/wood amount. You changed it in ArtMoney to 100000. If you then try to take 20000, you won't be able to do that, you will still get only 16000, although the game says you have 100000 of food/wood.

If you got TWO addresses, you can edit them (all of them to the same value) after adding them to the right panel. I would recommend a high value like 9999999 (seven 9s) since it would prevent you from editing it again in that level (I do not recommend locking a value, since each time you load a saved game the addresses change).

You can edit the values of the village store, workshop and any pile of food/wood in the game...

Editing Praying Power:

NOTE: Do this at you own risk of BOREDOM..................

NOTE2: You should not have anybody praying.

NOTE3: In this case, I do not know how many addresses are needed. It works for me having only one.... But I sometimes get two or three after sieving lots of times.

1-Start the game and ArtMoney. The order doesn't matter.

2-Check the Praying Power amount you want to change, pause the game, then use ALT-ENTER to minimize Black& White and then go to ArtMoney.

3-Click "Search". Select "Search: Range of values" and "Type: All". Enter the Praying Power amount minus 1 in "Value 1" box and the Praying Power amount more 1 in "Value 2" box (this is done because the Praying Power amount is not an integer value). Press OK.

4-After the search is complete, go back to Black & White. Change the Praying Power amount (the fastest and best way is to sacrifice a tree).

5-Go back to ArtMoney. This time click "Sieve" and enter the new Praying Power amount minus 1 in "Value 1" box and the Praying Power amount more 1 in "Value 2" box .

6-Repeat the steps 4 and 5 until the number of addresses does not vary (can be one, two or even three).

7-Add the addresses to the right panel.

8-Change all the values to the same amount (I recommend again 9999999).

Editing your alignment:

Thanks to RASP_KOLA_BORX for the information on this section.

Do this only if you know how to change the Registry. If you don't know, it is better not to change it since it keeps all you computer info!!!!!

1-Enter the Registry Editor.

2-Go to the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ Lionhead Studios Ltd \Black & White\ LHMultiplayer\ Profiles \_P_r_o_f_i_l_e_N_a_m_e

3-You will see a value called LoveBuckets. This is the value that keeps your alignment. Edit its hexadecimal value to
00 00 00 00 00 00 F0 3F to have a 1.0 alignment (good) or to 00 00 00 00 00 00 F0 BF to have a -1.0 alignment (evil). You can also set it to 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 to have a neutral alignment.

Editing your creature's alignment:

According to what I know, it is not possible to change it without screwing up your creature mind files a bit... RASP_KOLA_BORX said he was trying to understand how the mind files worked to possibly make a creature's attributes VIEWER.

I don't know if he wants to make an EDITOR... Anyway if you still want to change your creature's alignment , go to http://www.krank.org/ and download Kong. As I said, it will make your creature amnesic.
